    • Can't remeber if it is the same in 2000, but in 2003 in the bottom left

corner of the workspace there is a button called "Normal View (Restore Panes)

      - just above the Draw button in the default set up.

    • Thanks Terry but this does nothing for me - I was already using the various

buttons bottom left but the left frame Normal view remains in text and I see

no way of reverting back to thumbnails, nor do I see no reference to

'Restore Panes' either with a hovering mouse or a right click

There must be a way but I'm too much of a PP novice to know how to do it -

      what am I missing?

    • Do you have a column on the left with two tabs called slides and outline? If

so click on slides. If not, beats me!

    • When not in 'SlideShow' my window has a group of 5 buttons at bottom left of

the PP window - from left to right:

      Normal

      which has three windows:

at the left edge a window which now show only text and used to show

      thumbnails

at the bottom a 'Click for notes' text window which, so far, I have not

found a use for and which is closed down

and the main window where the editing is done

      Outline view

which seems to be no more than a different arrangement of Normal - so far I

have not found a use for this

      Slide view

but I would click the fifth button for preference to see the slide in

      Slideshow

      Slide sorter view

the purpose for which I understand

      Slide show button

which starts the slide show from the active slide

I see no tabs - only the buttons described above

      VERY frustrating

      Thanks for trying

    • Have you tried clicking on "Slide View"?

Which version of PPT are you using, because that would help.

PPT 2000 doesn't do thumbnails either, I'm afraid. You'd need 2002 or higher.
